Bitterfontein
Our Small Seeds community project is based at the Gerber & Co Farmstall
in Bitterfontein, the town nearest to our farm (70km!).
A treasure trove of homemade cakes, traditional Namaqua meals and artisan products,
it is most certainly worth a stop en route to Namibia or the far Northern Cape.
Here, we train women from the community in hand-weaving, allowing them
to take our yarn – on credit – and transform it into the garments
which we then buy back from them for sale on to the public.
Our dream is for the Farm Stall to become a bustling showcase of our fleeces, yarns
and the actual weaving process
